Featured Article: Something New, Born from the Experience of Old

Article by: Sal Esposito, VP of Supply – Inspira Holding

How can we keep this business of human experiences, human?

Those of us who have decades of experience in this business have not just seen evolution, but a revolution over the past 20 years. From the time consumers begin to think about traveling all the way through to how they save the pictures of trips they have taken, and every step in between, everything has completely changed. Armed with smartphones, PCs, and a billion different opinions and reviews, consumers take for granted that they will be able to access the best possible destinations, deals, delivery, and desired results. They demand the most convenient, fastest booking experience and the very highest level of value possible. They want recognition as a valued customer even if they are making their purchase from a company that is little more than a faceless logo on a webpage. The challenge is: how can we connect the needs of consumers in a meaningful way to a global supply chain and vice versa?  How can we keep this business of human experiences, human?

When I decided to join Inspira Holding it was not for the fancy title or the gigantic paycheck.  It was not for the cool, state-of-the-art software, and artificial intelligence that we have been developing over the course of the years, or swanky offices they had located in different beautiful spots around the globe. It was because, despite all these new, cool, and innovative things, they simply believe in people. They believe that relationships are the key to this entire, worldwide travel industry. That is right, something new and fresh, born from the experiences of many professionals of different backgrounds, with different perspectives, all sharing a common vision, values, and understanding that building strong long-term relationships is the ultimate key to any successful travel organization.

“Inspira is a real-life partner who brings people together to create great human experiences”, Sal Esposito

For me, being VP of Supply does not mean just connecting consumers with products. I work every single day to forge relationships of value that reinvigorate this connection. I help suppliers to recognize the needs of our customers, and work with them to create features, conditions, and a more robust understanding to maximize their knowledge and provide a great product.

It is the difference between being a company that is a faceless logo on a webpage, or Inspira, a real-life partner who brings people together to create great human experiences!
